Hyundai Motors Finding Possibilities For Launching Affordable EVs
With the fuel prices hiking at the jet dynamic speed in the entire nation the car manufacturing companies are finding the possibilities of launching the electronic vehicles at affordable prices. Following the race, the Hyundai Motors India Limited is also conducting a study of finding the possibilities to launch an affordable electric vehicle in the Indian car market to boost its sales. According to Mr S.S. Kim, Managing Director, Hyundai Motors India Limited, launching the low-priced electric vehicles is the priority of the Korean carmaker. In his words, "We have the product and the technology, and we are reviewing the Indian market condition and the infrastructure situation here. We will come up with some options, which will be the best for the Indian market. It's a No.1 priority in our future strategy."

It would be interesting to know that the Korean carmaker is one of the key players of electric vehicles manufacturers in India. In 2019 the carmaker launched its first electric vehicle the sub-compact crossover Kona in the Indian car market and has some high-performing hydrogen fuel-based vehicles under its belt.
According to the industry experts, the launch of EVs will be beneficial for the carmakers in India to meet the standards of proposed corporate average fuel efficiency determined by the government. It is reported that the government is all set to implement Phase 2 of CAFÉ norms from 2022, and also regulate the real-time driving emission RDE norms from 2023.
