Hyundai MUV Hexa Space launch close by
There seems to be another revolution in waiting in the under Rs 10 lakh MUV segment after the first one has been brought by Maruti Ertiga. It is expected to be brought in India by the new Hyundai SUV that will be priced under Rs 10 lakh. The new Hyundai MUV will be based on a new platform and it will be testing its mettle with Ertiga, Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo and the upcoming Mahindra Xylo Mini (Mahindra Quanto) and the Nissan Evalia besides the Chevrolet Enjoy MPV. The Hyundai utility vehicle code named HND-7 or Hexa Space was unveiled at the Auto Expo held in New Delhi this year.
As per the reports, the new Hyundai Utility car will be specifically developed for markets like India and Indonesia where there is a sudden spur in demand for MPVs. Indonesia being a largely MPV governed market already. The MPV segment no doubt has been set afire by the Maruti MPV Ertiga and by offering a seating for seven people and that too at such an affordable price is extraordinary. It is Ertiga that has eaten sales of Xylo and Innova and it is expected that the Hexa Space will be doing the damage to the Ertiga sales.
Meanwhile two other offerings Nissan Evalia, its commercial version Ashok Leyland Stile and the American MUV Chevrolet Enjoy will be making the competition stiff and stiffer. Where the Evalia is nearing its launch and is launching next month, the Enjoy and Hexa Space launch is still unknown. Auto industry experts feel that both Hyundai and Chevrolet will not let the near Diwali car buying spree go waste and most probably these car makers will try to launch their cars at this time. The Hexa Space will be offering a seating for seven people and will be offered in petrol and diesel engine options.
