Hyundai Readying to Recall 43,700 Units in China To Avoid Engine Faults

With an objective to avert potential engine failure in Santa Fe models enriched with 2.4 litre Theta GDI engine manufactured between November 29, 2012 and May 31, 2013 followed by 2.0 litre Theta GDI engines manufactured between November 29, 2012 and November 30, 2013, Korean car maker Hyundai Motors has recalled 43, 700 units in China.

According to reports the main objective of recall is to rectify the issue in the engine of these models due to there might be blockage in flow of fuel to engine resulting in its failure. The defective parts of the engine will be replaced by the car maker free of cost and the process of recall will begin on July 31, 2017.
 
In Indian car market Santa Fe is empowered with 2.2 litre 16V CRDi diesel engine that is capable of boosting the power of 194.3 bhp at 3800 rpm and torque of 421Nm at rpm varying between 1800 and 2500. The engine has displacement capacity of 2199cc and capable of reaching the top speed of 182 kmph.
