Hyundai Teases its New SUV Kona, to be Launched This Year

According to recent industry reports Korean car maker Hyundai Motors has teased the introductory images of its proposed CUV Kona, slated for launch sometimes during the second half of this year. From the teaser image it is seen that the front fascia of the SUV Kona will embellish the narrow headlights outsourced from Jeep Cherokee. Apart from this nothing more is visible from the teaser image and details are expected to be disclosed in coming months. The only thing that is clear from the teaser image is that the vehicle will follow the company’s design philosophy of bold, striking design and refined and spacious cabin.

Under the Hood, in the international market the Kona will be empowered with 1.0 litre turbo petrol and 1.6 litre petrol engine and will be placed under the beneath of Tucson in the international market. It is reported to make its first public debut during the New York Auto Show scheduled to be held in the month of June 2017. The SUV is based on company’s Intrado Concept that was unveiled during the Geneva Motor Show 2014. In the international market Kona will compete against Nissan Juke and Toyota C-HR, and after making its debut in European car market it will be launched in Australia and other markets across the world in the later months. As far as Indian car market it is believed that going through the encouraging response from car enthusiasts towards Creta Korean car maker might not introduce the same in India.

According to reports for Indian and other car markets Korean car maker is planning to bring a sub-compact SUV that will be placed below Creta along with all wheel drive version of Tucson.
