Hyundai Tucson snapped camouflaged

Speculated to launch sometimes between the months of August – September this year in Indian car market, Tucson the proposed SUV from Korean car maker Hyundai Motors was snapped recently by spies on Chennai roads under heavy covers. Reported to be placed between Creta and Santa Fe, Tucson will have length of 4,475mm, width of 1,850mm, height of 1,645mm and wheelbase of 2,670mm.

To begin with mechanical specifications the Indian bound version of Tucson will be empowered with 2.0 litre CRDi diesel engine and offered with option of two engine outputs with 136 PS and 184PS and available in transmission option of both manual and automatic. It would be interested to learn that with displacement capacity of 1,995cc the Indian arm of Korean car maker will be able to sale Tucson in Delhi and NCR regions also.

The SUV will be brought in Indian car market through completely knocked doors (CKD) and assembled at company’s production unit in Chennai. It is expected to be offered with starting price of Rs. 15 lakh (ex-showroom price, New Delhi). After launch in India it will compete against Mahindra XUV500 and upcoming Tata Hexa.
