Hyundai ‘Venue’ Ready To Intensify Competition In Compact SUV Segment
With intensifying competition in the compact SUV segment the Korean car maker Hyundai Motors is all set to launch its new initiative Venue in the Indian car market to against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport. According to the sources of the carmaker, it targets to sale 7K to 8K units of Venue every month in the Indian car market. At present country’s leading car maker Maruti Suzuki India Dominates the segment by selling out 13,000 units every month.
In the words of Seon Seob Kim, Managing Director, Hyundai Motors India Limited, “Hyundai Venue will come equipped with the Hyundai Global Blue Link Connectivity solution for our customers in India… The Blue Link technology will be available in future Hyundai products starting from Hyundai Venue, thus democratizing the technology.”

According to the sources of HMIL 26,000 units of compact SUV’s are being sold every month in the Indian car market, thus recording the annual growth of 20% in this category. This creates a crucial situation for the manufactures to introduce a new vehicle in the segment. Moving ahead the sources of the company said, that with an objective to keep itself away from the competition, it is introducing the advanced connectivity solutions in the Venue, that are not offered by the others in the segment. The Venue will have Hyundai Blue Link with 33 features, of which 10 have been developed specifically for the Indian buyers.

The Venue will be the first utility vehicle among the six vehicles that the Korean car maker plans to launch in India during the coming years. The company has next generations of i20 Active and Creta on the cards that will be followed by Creta and Tucson upgraded with seven seater and five and seven-seater options respectively. Along with this the company also has the plan to launch a mini SUV to compete against Mahindra KUV100.
