India bound Renault Megane slated for launch in 2017
According to reports coming from the house of French car maker Renault, it is going to launch the Megane sedan in Indian car market sometimes during next year. Interestingly India is among 20 countries where the Megane will debut at the same time, however this is not sure that whether the car maker will launch all three versions of Megan namely hatchback, estate or sedan in Indian car market or only sedan version. However one thing which is confirmed that Megane will be the first model by car maker which will have the same design philosophy as offered in global market.
In global car market Renault Megane will be launched with following engine configurations:
- SCe 115 petrol engine mated with five speed manual gear transmission system or continuous variable transmission system;
- dCi 90 diesel engine with six speed manual transmission system;
- dCi 110 diesel engine with six speed manual transmission system or EDC6 dual clutch automatic transmission system;
- dCi 130 diesel engine with six speed manual transmission system.
In Indian car market Megane will be brought through CKD route from its Bursa production unit in Turkey and then assembled here in India at its assembling plant located in Oragadam in Chennai.
