India Bound Suzuki Ignis Scores Five Stars in Euro NCAP Test

According to recent reports, Suzuki Ignis, the upcoming cross-over by Japanese carmaker which is slated for launch in Indian carmarket sometimes during the beginning of next years has succeed  in scoring five start rating in the recently conducted Euro NCAP test for security. The unit of Ignis which succeed in receiving five star rating will be offered with optional safety package, but interestingly the standard variant also succeed in scoring three star rating for standard safety offered in it. The units of Ignis tested were equipped with front airbags for both passengers followed by side head, chest and pelvis airbags at front portion. The variant with optional safety package embellished additional feature AEB for drivers in urban areas.
 
According to sources of NCAP, the passenger segment of crossover remained constant during the hard crash. The tests conducted on dummy offered good protection to knees and femurs to front passengers. Commenting on the results of test, sources of Suzuki said that in coming months Ignis will be equipped with all necessary safety measures which help in protecting passengers of all sizes sitting inside the car. 
 
In Indian car market Suzuki Ignis will be offered in both petrol and diesel variants of 1.2 litre K-Series and 1.3 litre DDiS Multijet engine respectively. The former will generate the power of 84 bhp and torque of 114Nm, while the later will produce power of 75 bhp and torque of 170Nm. The transmission duties will be performed by five speed manual gear transmission system and AMT transmission system as an option. In India it will be sold through Nexa showrooms and priced in the range of Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 7 lakh (ex-showroom, price).
