India Bound WagonR and WagonR Stingray Launched in Japan
Japanese car maker Suzuki has launched the India bound versions of generation next WagonR and Stingray hatchbacks in domestic car market. The new versions of these vehicles undergo vast changes and carry no resemblance from their existing avatars except the tallboy appearance. The new FX design philosophy of WagonR makes the hatchback more muscular with sharper curves giving it complete ly a new look. The front fascia of generation next WagonR carries flat nose with square shaped headlights along with small grille. The side profile receives enlarged windows with completely new look. The windows at the rear portion do not reach up to the door hinge and small black strip connects the front and rear windows.

On the rear portion the new WagonR receives enlarged tailgate with enlarged window, the horizontal look-alike tail lights has been positioned at the beneath of the bumper at the point where bumper meets the tailgate. Albeit the new WagonR is 200 mm shorter than its existing version but still it embellishes enlarged wheelbase of 2,460mm. Inside the cabin the new WagonR gets completely new and dynamic look. The dual (black and beige) colored dashboard receives tablet looking touchscreen infotainment system, similar to the Ignis, below which is offered the settings for climate control. Placed about it is the centralized instrument cluster featuring enlarged display unit. The steering wheel has been outsourced from Ignis. Along with regular version, the Japanese car maker has also introduced the WagonR Hybrid FZ version which is reported to carry sportier look and bestows skirts, twin-pod headlamps and a spoiler.

Talking about the Suzuki WagonR Stingray also undergoes vast changes on the front fascia in form of newly developed front bonnet, enlarged front grille, new front bumper, sleeked LED headlights with DRLs and projector lamps. On the rear portion it embellishes subtle changes in form of newly developed bumpers and clear-lens lights. On the interior front it receives almost the same looks except the integration of certain red accents offered on the instrument cluster.

The new WagonR is developed on HEARTECT platform and therefore is 100 light weighted than compared to existing version of Wagon R. Under the hood, it receives newly introduced 658cc three cylinder engine which sprints the power of 52PS and torque of 60 Nm. Along with petrol version it will also be offered in SHVS mild hybrid version and is reported to deliver an average of 33.4 kmpl. The SHVS trim of WagonR will be offered with CVT transmission system only with option of AWD and2WD. On the safety front it will bestow features like dual airbags and dual sensor brake support system and ABS system.
