India made Maruti Suzuki Jimny to launch in 2017
Latest industry reports reveal that country’s leading car manufacturer MSIL is going to manufacture its upcoming compact SUV Jimny at its Indian manufacturing plant located in Gujarat. The proposed vehicle is reported to be developed on the same platform on which Baleno hatchback is developed. It is also reported that Indo-Japanese car maker will export the same from India.
Mechanically Jimny is reported to be equipped with 1.0 litre Boosterjet petrol engine, which is also reported to be offered in RS version of Baleno hatchback in coming days. As far as its diesel variant is concerned nothing has been so far confirmed by the car marker. Apart from this detail nothing has been so far talked about this compact SUV by any of the company sources.
The Maruti Suzuki Jimny vehicle is not new in Indian car market and carries most of its cues from its sibling Gypsy, which embellished enlarged wheelbase. According to reports compared to Maruti Suzuki Gypsy, Jimny is smaller in size with small wheelbase and two doors. At first instance it looks like a hatchback with additional height.
