India Made Nissan Magnite Receives 4 Star Rating In NCAP Test
The India made compact SUV Nissan Magnite has succeeded in receiving the four-star rating in the ASEAN NCAP test conducted in December 2020. According to the results revealed by the ASEAN NCAP society, the compact SUV was awarded 39.02 points and 16.31 points in the adult and child occupancy respectively. For the safest assist category, the SUV scored 15.28 points, thus taking the overall score of SUV to 70.60 points, and making it suitable to receive the four-star rating. The compact SUV is made-in-India, and the model tested during the test is being exported to the Indonesian car market.
According to the results revealed by the ASEAN NCAP the front fascia indicated the chances of injuries to the chest’s of the driver and the front-seat passenger but offered complete protection to their legs. The compartment on the front side remained consistent during the smash test. The driver’s chest, however, remained protected during the side impact test. Speaking about the Child protection test, the SUV received 7.81 points in the Dynamic Assessment Test conducted on a dummy of an eighteen months child. Interestingly, the child dummy of a three-year-old child was given full eight points for the safety.
The model tested during the test is equipped with the number of safety features like dual airbags, ABS+EBD, ESC and the seat belt reminder for the front seat passengers as standard features. It also comes with features like reverse parking sensors, 360-degree camera view, vehicle dynamic control (VDC) traction control and many more. The Indonesian version of the Magnite is empowered with a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The transmission duties are offered with an option of a five-speed manual gear transmission system, and a CVT system. The prices of the SUV in the Indonesian car market starts from 208,800 Rupiah, whereas in India its prices starts from Rs. 5.49 lakh (ex-showroom price).
