Indian Army Officials To Drive In Mahindra e-Verito EV

Supporting the government Of India’s initiative to encourage the use of electric vehicles within the government officials across the country, the Indian army has included electric vehicles in the fleet of vehicles driven by it. According to media reports the army has acquired ten units of Mahindra e-Verito as a part of the pilot project initiated under the join collaboration of the Central PSUs and Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL). The sources of Indian army revealed that the number of these vehicles would be increased in the coming to months and the efforts will be made to encourage the use of electric vehicles within the army and minimize the levels of emissions.

As a part of this project the domestic car maker will supply the brigade of its electric vehicles to EESL, which will then further provide these cars to the top officials of the government departments. At present the e-Veritos are being used by the officials of  the PMO and various departments of the Delhi government. Encouraged from this initiative recently the governments of the other states have also started providing the electric vehicles to their high officials. 
 
The Indian army has been always at the front whenever there is any matter or endeavor for protecting the environment. Various Territorial Army Battalions working under the supervision of the Indian army have earlier made a huge contribution and participated with full courage in initiatives like forestation for environmental protection. In-fact, various units of the army appointed in the remote and ecologically sensitive areas from Kashmir to Kanya Kumari operative various environmental protection areas to retain the ecological balance in cooperation with the natives of these areas.
