Domestic car maker Mahindra and Mahindra had showcased the XUV Aero Concept during the Indian Auto Expo 2016 and succeeded in grabbing the attention of car enthusiasts. Encouraged from this reply it is reported that car maker is soon going to commence its production. If this happens then it is expected to be priced around Rs. 20 lakh, as told by Mr. Pawan Goenka, Executive Director, Mahindra and Mahindra. Developed on its elder sibling SUV XUV500, the design of XUV Aero has been developed by company’s engineers in Mumbai in collaboration with engineers from Italian designing firm Pininfarnia. 

 

 

Although the above mentioned action is still under consideration of car maker and therefore not much details have been revealed so far by it. But, still as the concept car is developed on XUV500 platform it is expected to carry same engine configuration of 2.2 litre diesel churning the power of 140bhp as offered in XUV500. The looks of coupe cross over look extremely dynamic and aggressive and will be one the most affordable coupe SUV available in country. The front fascia carries same appearance as offered in XUV 500 in form of vertically developed LED lights and enlarged air intakes on front bumper. The sloping roof line succeeds in giving it a coupe look which is enhanced with angular C-pillar. The interiors are developed with new infotainment system supporting connectivity with various devices.

 

In the words of Mr. Goenka, "Pininfarina can help Mahindra go to the next step in our effort to become global,". Moving ahead he also added "We want to leverage the brand, design and engineering expertise. We are looking to see how to design a product that has a Mahindra kind of heritage but a Pininfarina kind of design and styling."
