Indian Car Industry Continues To Witness Substantial Growth

Despite of regular fluctuations in the fuel prices and hike in the prices of raw materials used for manufacturing the cars, no one can expect to see growth in the Indian car market under such critical circumstances. But, surprisingly ignoring all these factors the car manufacturers have reasons to smile on the growth enjoyed by them during the month of June 2018. According to the sales statistics revealed by various car makers, they have witnessed satisfactory growth during the month of June, the sales are also higher than the sales of same period during last year.
 
To begin with, let us talk about country’s leading car maker Maruti Suzuki India Limited, during the month of June the Indo-Japanese car makers recorded the sales of 1,44,981 units, thus recording the growth of 36.3 percent as compared to the sales of the same month in 2017. Among the total units sold in June 2018, 1,35,662 units were sold in the domestic car market whereas 9319 were sold in the overseas market.

On the other side, second car leading company Hyundai Motors India Limited, the Indian alliance of Koren car maker Hyundai, recorded the growth of 19.5% in the month of June as compared to June 2017. The Korean car managed to sell 60,799 units in the domestic market and 15,408 in the international market. Along with this, the car maker also marked the milestone of selling out 8 million units under its flagship in the Indian car market during the same period.

The domestic car maker Tata Motors also recorded an encouraging growth of 54% in the month of June 2018 against the sales of July 2017. The same results were achieved by another homegrown carmaker Mahindra and Mahindra that recorded the growth of 25% in the month of June 2018 as against the sales of June 2017. During the month car maker sold out 45,155 units of which 41,689 units were sold in the domestic car market, whereas 3466 units were sold in the international car market.

Moving ahead the Japanese auto giant Honda Cars India Limited also witnessed the growth of 37.5 percent with, 17,602 units sold in the domestic market and 486 units in the international car market. The greater role in enhancing the sales of Japanese car maker was mainly played by the generation next Amaze that was launched recently in the Indian car market.

Another Japanese car maker Toyota Motors succeeded in selling out 14,102 units during the month of June 2018 as compared to 3628 units sold during the same period last year. The major role in increasing the sales of car maker was played by recently launched Yaris sedan and MPV Toyota Innova Crysta.
