Mr RatanTata, Chairman of Tata Motors stated on the eve of addressing his shareholders for last time that Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), Tata Group’s subsidiary unit, will soon start manufacturing compact cars. Speaking more about the subject, Tata stated that at present the company is working on the compact cars plan for Jaguar Land Rover and these compact cars will soon be seen challenging prominent luxury car brands like Mercedes Benz, BMW and Audi.
Mr Tata added that they have not tasted the heights of grand success for several years and now they have decided that JLR will jump into the arena of building new products and introduce itself in some other segments. He also said that this task would play a vital role in promoting company’s status globally. Tata Group is the largest employer in United Kingdom and has headquarters of JLR located in Whitley, Coventry.
