Jaguar XE Prestige launched with price tag of Rs. 43.69 lakh
British car maker Jaguar has launched Prestige variant of its luxurious sedan XE in Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 43.69 lakh (ex-showroom price, Mumbai). The new variant will be offered to fill the gap between Pure and Portfolio variants of this sedan. The newly introduced variant is also offered only in petrol variant. It would be interested to know that with an objective to compete against BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C-Class and Audi A4, the British car maker introduced XE sedan in Indian car market during the Indian Auto Expo 2016.
Mechanically the Prestige variant continues the existing 2.0 litre petrol engine that churns the power of 198 bhp and torque of 320 Nm and mated with eight speed automatic transmission system as standard feature. According to reports the car maker had also imported the diesel variant of same sedan giving an indication that company is also going to soon bring the same in Indian car market too. As far as changes that are offered in Prestige variant are concerned it undergoes subtle changes in form of ORVMS with memory, sunroof, ambient light system, 380W Meridian sound system, Taurus leather upholstery and rear parking camera.
