Jeep debuts in India with Grand Cherokee and Wrangler

Finally after the long wait of three years U.S. auto giant Jeep has made its entrance in Indian car market with two of its iconic initiatives namely Wrangler (unlimited), Grand Cherokee (limited version), Grand Cherokee Summit and Grand Cherokee SRT. The (ex-showroom prices, Delhi) of all these models are Rs.71,59,104, Rs. 93,64,527, Rs. 1,03,39,919 and Rs. 1,03,39,919 respectively.

As far as mechanical features embellished in these renowned are concerned the Jeep Wrangler (unlimited) is empowered with 4 cylinder 2.8 lit re diesel engine that has efficiency of boosting the power of 200 bhp and torque of 460Nm. It is offered with four wheel drive option followed by different locks and special off road tyres that are offered to enhance its working efficiency. The Grand Cherokee (limited version) and Summit are empowered with 3.0 litre turbo diesel engine that boosts the power of 240 bhp and delivers an average of 12.8 kmpl. While the top end trim SRT is equipped with 6.4 litre Hemi V8 engine that boosts the power of 470 bhp.

Industry experts believe that although among the different products offered by Jeep Wrangler is more eye catching but as going through the taste of Indian SUV lover it is speculated that because of its extra contemporary look and distinctive look from SUV, Grand Cherokee will succeed in impressing the Indian buyers towards it. Moreover the interior of Grand Cherokee are blessed with additional features which make the SUV much better than its other siblings.

At present Jeep has established its dealerships in Delhi, Ahmadabad, Chennai and Mumbai, and plans to establish ten more dealers across the country in coming months. So now after making its entrance in the Indian car market, the U.S car maker should not only establish its roots strongly in India throughout its dealerships but should also focus on offering qualitative after sales and service to buyers.
