Jeep to finally debut on September 1, 2016 in Indian car market
Finally after the wait of almost four years since the rumors regarding its debut in Indian car market started, U.S. based car maker Jeep will make its entry in India on September 1, 2016. According to recent reports the American maker will launch two of its highly awaited vehicles Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Grand Cherokee in India on September 1, 2016.
To begin with Jeep Wrangler, its 4 door Unlimited version will be offered in India which will empowered with 2.8 litre CRD turbocharged four cylinder diesel engines churning the power of 147 kW @3,600 rpm and torque of 460Nm @rpm varying between 1,600 to 2,000. It will be mated five speed automatic transmission system and will be offered in four wheel drive system. Physically Jeep Wrangler Unlimited will have the length of 1,877mm, height of 1,860mm, ground clearance of 238.2mm and wheelbase of 2,947mm.

The second product to be introduced by car maker Jeep Grand Cherokee will be offered in two variants namely Limited and Summit followed by its top end variant Grand Cherokee SRT. The standard variant of Grand Cherokee will be energized with 3.0 litre EcoDiesel turbocharged V6 diesel engine that will boost an impressive power of 179kW and torque of 570Nm. Its engine will be mated with eight speed paddle shift operated automatic transmission system and will be offered with four wheel driving system. It will have length of 4,828mm, width of 1,943mm and height of 1,802mm, wheelbase of 2,915mm and ground clearance of 2.06mm.

The top end variant Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT will be powered 6.4 litre HEMI naturally aspirated V8 petrol engine that generates the power of 350kW and torque of 630Nm. The engine of this high performing variant will be coated with eight speed automatic transmission system and will be offered Quadra-Trace four wheel drive system. Physically as compared to its regular trims it will have additional length of 18mm, width of 11mm, and 53mm shorter height.
