JSW to Introduce Electronic Cars in Indian Car Market
After United States of America and China, India is the third largest highly polluted country across the world and despite of various endeavors made by ruling governments in recent years in form of reduction in taxes, still we have not succeeded in bringing down the percentage of pollution in our county. Now going through the interests of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, JSW, one of the renowned infrastructure houses in the country is planning to manufacture electronic car in Indian car market.
The reason which at first instance seems to be responsible unpopularity of electronic cars in India is high cost and country’s deficiency in power generation ability. According to an estimate at present about 20,000 plus electronic cars are running in Indian car market and to minimize carbon footprint in country it would be indispensable for Indian car market to have about 7 million electronic vehicles running on road by 2020. At present only home grown car maker Mahindra and Mahindra is the company only in India which develops electronic vehicles and now to eliminate its dominance JSW plans to bring electric vehicles manufactured by it. To enter in market the group has even taken substantial loan from its partners. It is believed that with subsequent support from government and availability of steel from its own plant the group will succeed in manufacturing electronic vehicles at cost effective charges.
According to sources of company it has constituted a team of experts to develop a framework for its upcoming project. It is also reported that company’s CEO Mr. Sajjan Jindal has even started interviewing the expert automobile experts from renowned car manufacturing companies. The sources of company said that they wish to roll out their first electronic vehicle in market sometimes during 2017, however for that they will require to work on 24x7 pattern, but before that lots of work needs to be done with government.
