Korean car maker Kia has commenced the bookings of its entry level vehicle Seltos in the Indian car market at the down payment of Rs. 25,000, with this the second largest car manufacturing company of South Korea will finally start its operational activities in India. The Seltos is slated for launch in India on August 22, 2019. With an objective to make its in-depth reach to the customers Kia is establishing 265 touchpoints in 160 cities across the country. Company plans to start the deliveries of the Seltos immediately after the launch according to the booking received.

 

 

Under the hood, Kia Seltos will be offered with three engine options compliant to BS-VI emission norms. The list of engine includes 1.5 litre petrol, 1.5 litre diesel and 1.4 litre turbo petrol engine, and is believed to be offered with the price tag varying between Rs. 11 lakh and Rs. 17 lakh. It will be embellished with bunch of contemporary features including engine inch Head up display, ventilated and power adjustable seats, sunroof and ambient lighting system, 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system, and Bose eight speaker system. On the safety front, it will be equipped with six airbags, ABS, hill start assist control,  electronic stability control system and tyre pressure monitoring system. Along with this the compact SUV is also equipped with a new advanced connected car technology known as UVO, that facilitates the driver to use 37 smart features within the vehicle including remote control, navigation and convenience, and safety and security. 

 

By establishing 265 touchpoints across the country it seems that the Korean car maker do not wants to leave any stone unturned. This can be considered as an aggressive and commendable move by any of the carmakers before stepping in the market, which in the recent times has been struggling as far as its performance is concerned. However, one thing which can be said favorable for the Kia is an overwhelming response received by the new products namely Hyundai Kona, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Hyundai Venue, and Mahindra XUV300. Going through the performance revealed by these vehicles it is speculated that Seltos will also succeed in enjoying the same success.
