Kia India to Sale 2 Lakh Units In FY 2021-22

According to recent media reports the Korean carmaker Kia Motors plans to sell 2 lakh units during the financial year 2022 to achieve its target of 29% sales growth. In the words of Mr.Hardeep Singh Brar, Vice-President and Head of Sales and Marketing, Kia India, said, “the company’s monthly sales fall between 18,000 – 20,000 units. And if everything goes well, it will manage to achieve sales of 200,000 units in the financial year 2022. The carmaker has no plan to shut down the production line this time around. The existing Kia models have been witnessing huge demand despite regional lockdowns.”
 
 
The production unit of Kia Motors located in Anantapur of Andhra Pradesh has the production efficiency of 3 lakh units per year. It is reported that the company targets to increase its production efficiency in the next few weeks and reach its full production efficiency by 2022. The company also plans to extend its dealership network up to 350 touchpoints during this year. Recently the company has said in a statement that it is going to launch the updated versions of Seltos and Sonet during the first week of the next month.
 
It is speculated that the Korean carmaker can also make its entry in the seven-seater SUV segment of the Indian car market. The spies have caught the Kia MPV undergoing the test type on several occasions in the country. At present the MPV is codenamed as Kia KY and will be placed to compete against Mahindra Marazzo, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, and proposed MPV from the Korean carmaker Hyundai.
