Kia Motors Initiates The Bookings Of Sonet, Launch In September 2020

After the successful launch of compact SUV Seltos in the Indian car market almost a year back, the Korean carmaker Kia Motors is all set to launch its second product the compact SUV Sonet in India sometimes during September 2020. The company has also started receiving the bookings for the same at the down payment of Rs. 25,000. The interested buyers can book the compact SUV either online or through the company’s dealership. After the launch in the Indian car market, the Sonet will compete with Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Toyota Urban Cruiser, and the Tata Nexon.

Underhood the Kia Sonet will be offered with an option of three engines including, a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, generating the power of 118 bhp, and the torque of 172Nm. The transmission duties will include a six-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT transmission system.  The 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine will boost the power of 82bhp and the torque of 113Nm. It will be mated with a five-speed manual gear transmission system. The third engine option will be a 1.5-liter turbo-diesel engine that is reported to generate the two states of power tunes. The first one will be 99 bhp and a torque of 215 Nm, whereas the second one will be 113 bhp and 245 Nm. The former will be mated with a six-speed manual gear transmission system, whereas the latter will be offered with six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. According to reports, these engine options are the same as offered in the Hyundai Venue. The Sonet will be offered in two trims namely, HT Line and GT Line.
 
Speaking about the features that would be offered in Sonet, it is reported to be equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports connectivity to a smartphone, front ventilated seats, multi-drive options, seven-speaker Bose premium sound system, UVO connect car technology, and many more. As far as safety features are concerned, it will consist of ABS+EBD, six-airbags, vehicle stability management, tire pressure monitoring system, front parking system, hill-start assist control system, and a few more.
