Kia Reveals the Features Of Its First Electric Vehicle
Korean carmaker Kia Motors has revealed the features of its first electric vehicle proposed to be named EV6. The EV6 is the first vehicle among the seven electric vehicles which the carmaker plans to launch in the coming months. All these vehicles will be based on the new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) outsourced from its sister concern Hyundai Group. The EV6 will be offered in two variants – ‘GT Line’ which would be its standard version, and the ‘GT’ version which is regarded as the performance-oriented trim.

There will be two options of battery packs including a 77.4kWh and a 58kWh. The standard version will be offered with an option of both these battery packs, the GT trim will be empowered with the 77.4kWh battery packs. Both the trims will be offered with an option of rear-wheel-drive and the all-wheel-drive option. The trim equipped with the rear-wheel-drive option will generate the power of 229PS and the torque of 350Nm. It is reported to deliver a WLTP endorsed range of 510km. The all-wheel-drive option is claimed to develop the power of 325 PS and the torque of 605Nm. It will touch the mark from standstill to 100 kmph in just 5.2 seconds. The standard version is said to reach the mark of 100 kmph in 6.2 seconds.
Speaking about the version powered with the all-wheel-drive option it is claimed to reach the mark from 0 to 100 kmph in only 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 260 kmph. The performance-oriented ‘GT’ trim is also equipped with an electronic limited-slip feature to retain control on the vehicle while driving at high speed.

The Kia EV6 can be charged up to 80 percent with a high-speed charger. The long-range RWD trim can be charged in less than five minutes for driving up to the range of 100 km. The Kia EV6 come equipped with a plethora of Level 3 autonomous driver-assist system including Safe Exit Assist system, Lane Following Assist, Highway Driving Assist, and Remote Smart Parking Assist system.
On the exterior front, it will be developed with a new Digital Tiger Face front fascia thus replacing the conventional Tiger nose grille. The other features offered on exteriors include LED headlights and sequential DRLs, extended character lines, and a few more.
