Kia Sonet: What Different Trims Have To Offer You?
The Korean carmaker Kia Motors has finally launched its highly awaited sub-compact SUV Sonet in the Indian car market with the starting price of Rs. 6.71 lakh for the entry-level variant and going high up-to Rs. 11.99 lakh for the top-end variant. Both the prices are ex-showroom prices. According to the sources of the company, it is receiving an encouraging response from the Indian buyers and getting an average of 1,000 bookings on daily basis. It has so far received more than 25,000 bookings.
Under the hood, the Kia Sonet is offered in both petrol and diesel variants with two engine options in the petrol variant and a single-engine option in diesel variant with two engine tuning options. The petrol variant includes the engine options of a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine boosting the power of 82 bhp and the torque of 115 Nm. It is mated with a five-speed manual gear transmission system. The other engine option in the petrol variant is a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine boosting the power of 118 bhp and the torque of 172 Nm. The transmission duties in this engine option are performed by iMT and DCT transmission duties. The diesel variant is empowered with a 1.5-liter engine and mated with a six-speed manual gear transmission system and a six-speed automatic transmission system. The diesel engine with a six-speed manual gear transmission system generates the power of 99 bhp and the torque of 240Nm, while the diesel engine with an automatic transmission system churns the power of 113 bhp and the torque of 250nm. The petrol and diesel variants are divided into six-trims christened as HTE, HTK, HTK Plus, HTX, HTX Plus, and GTX Plus.
The HTE Trim: It is offered in both the entry-level trims of petrol and diesel variants, equipped with a 1.0-liter and 1.5-liter engines respectively. The petrol Sonet HTE is priced Rs. 6.71 lakh, where diesel Sonet HTC is offered with the price-tag of Rs. 8.05 lakh. The list of notable features offered in this trim is halogen headlamps, tilt-adjustable steering, front and rear USB charging port, front door power windows, rear air-conditioner, vents, 3.5-inch mono-tone MID, front adjustable headrests, and a many more. Along with this, it is also equipped with standard features like ABS+EBD, rear parking sensors, dual front airbags, speed alert, seatbelt reminder, and ISOFIX for child safety.
The HTK Trim: Mechanically this trim also underpins the same engine options as offered in both the petrol and diesel variants. Continuing the features offered in the HTE trim, it also embellishes the features like height-adjustable driver seat, rear power windows, keyless entry, 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, follow me headlamps, four-speakers, UVO lite connectivity, steering mounted controls, and a few more.
The HTK Plus Trim: Continuing with the same engine options in petrol and diesel variants, this trim is offered with different transmission systems consisting of The major features offered in this trim are roof rails, automatic headlamps, projector fog lamps, electronic ORVMs, climate control, rear parcel tray, rear camera, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports connectivity with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The engine and transmission options include 1.2L MT, 1.0L iMT, 1.0L DCT, 1.5L MT, and 1.5L AT.
The HTX Trim: To begin with features this trims adorns the features like LED headlamps, DRLS, electric sun-roof, LED tail-lamps, chrome door handles, smart-key with push-button start, remote engine start, rear adjustable head-rests, cruise control, dual-tone interior, etc. The engine options include a 1.5-liter iMT and 1.5-liter MT trims in petrol and diesel variants respectively.
The HTX Plus Trim: It also is equipped with the same engine configurations as offered in HTX trim. Continuing the features offered in the above-mentioned trims, this trim also sports the features like tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, rear wiper and washer, 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, UVO connected car technology, seven-speaker bose-sound system, air purifier with virus protection, smartwatch connectivity, auto-dimming IRVM, and a few more.
The GTX Plus Trim: This is the top-end trim equipped with 1.0-liter iMT and 1.5-liter MT engine. It is equipped with the features like six airbags, front parking sensors, a diffuser fin, a wireless charger with cooling function, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, aluminum finished pedals, etc.
