Kodiaq will be the name of new SUV by Skoda
Czech car maker Skoda has confirmed that the name of its upcoming SUV will be Kodiaq, derived from the name of Kodiak beer found in island of southern coast of Alaska. Earlier it was rumored that the name of this seven seater SUV might be Skoda Polar or Skoda Snowman. According to sources of company the SUV will be showcased sometimes during the second half of on-going year and will launch in the beginning of next year. Developed on MQB platform the SUV was unveiled during the 86th Geneva Motor Show in March.

The SUV is expected to come in hybrid version which will be similar to one showcased earlier. It will be boosted with 1.4 litre TSI engine churning the power of 154 bhp and torque of 250JNm. It will be followed by an electronic motor boosting the power of 53 bhp and torque of 220Nm. Apart from this it will also adorn 1.8 litre TSI engine and 2.0 litre TDI engine mated with six speed manual gear transmission system and also with seven speed DSG transmission system.

Following VisionS design philosophy the production version of Kodiaq is also speculated to bestow same features in form of styling and designing. It will have length of 4,700mm and will offer comfort seating experience to seven passengers.
