Latest Video Of Mahindra Bolero Leaves Anand Mahindra In Awe

Mahindra Bolero SUV has been making headlines lately due to its go-anywhere capabilities. The latest video that went viral on social media shows the off-road SUV being driven on railway tracks, leaving the Group Chairman of Mahindra, Anand Mahindra, in awe of its capability.

The video was shot on the under-construction railway bridge on the Chenab river in Kashmir, which is the world's tallest railway arch bridge with a height of 359 metres from the riverbed, taller than the Eiffel Tower. The Bolero SUV was modified into a survey car on the railway tracks, with a special platform made to put the SUV on the track. The SUV can be seen being driven on the tracks while the construction continues to complete the bridge.

Anand Mahindra took to social media to express his admiration for Bolero's capabilities. He said, “They sum up why the founders of Mahindra decided to build off-road vehicles in independent India. They were meant to go where no paths existed & clear the way for others to follow.”

Mahindra and Mahindra, known for manufacturing SUVs capable of tackling tough roads, offer flagship models such as Thar, XUV700, and Scorpio-N SUVs with off-road capabilities. The Bolero three-row SUV has been the highest-selling model from Mahindra and Mahindra for several years, popular in rural India as well as in the hills.

The Bolero is powered by a 1.5-litre mHawk75 turbo diesel engine and mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, offering a peak output of 75 bhp and peak torque of 210 Nm. Although the Bolero is not as feature-loaded as some of the other new-generation Mahindra models, it has maintained its core fan base for being practical and versatile, with more space to carry people or luggage.

Mahindra and Mahindra is expected to upgrade the Bolero SUV in the coming days. The new Bolero is reportedly going to be based on the same platform as the new Scorpio-N launched last year and is expected to get the same ladder-on-frame chassis and updated design in its new generation.
