Launch of BS VI Cars In The Pipeline Of Volvo India Before 2020

It is reported that the Swedish car maker Volvo is speculating to launch BS VI compliant cars in Indian car market before the April 2020, the deadline determined by the government of India for the launch such vehicles within the country. According to sources of the company with Indian government making arrangements for the availability of BS-VI fuels in the national capital Delhi, the group has decided its future strategy and might launch BS VI vehicles in the national capital and NCR region of the compatible fuel is provided by the fueling stations.

Commenting on it Mr. Charles Frump, Managing Director, Volvo Auto India said, "We are future ready and assessing the possibility of launching BS-VI compliant cars prior to the government s deadline if the fuel is available in Delhi NCR before”. The Swedish auto giant is already selling BS-VI compliant vehicles in the international market but did not launch the same in India due to absence of suitable fuel for such vehicles. The car maker has already announced that it every vehicle launched by it from 2019 will also be launched in the electric variant, thus stopping the production of cars equipped with internal combustion engine system. In the words of Mr. Frump, launching the electric vehicles will be the priority of the group and therefore entire range of vehicles launched from 2019 will also  be offered in electric and hybrid versions.
 
 Revealing future plan of the group Frump said, "Volvo Cars' global ambition is to have 1 million electric and electrified cars on the roads by 2025, India is destined to play an important role in making this number”. According to him India will also get the same fleet of vehicles that would be enriched with these features.
