Lexus Favors The Drive Of Hybrid Cars Instead of Electric Cars In India
At one side where the government of India is concentrating on encouraging the use of electric vehicles and make the country completely running on electric mobility, on the other side Lexus, the division of Japanese car maker Toyota Motors has different thought. According to the Vince Socco, Executive Vice-President, Lexus, Asia Pacific Division, the Indian government should adopt a vast view towards the electrification despite of focusing on one specific factor that is electric battery. In his words, their group is ready with the technology required for the development of electric vehicles the only matter of concern for them is respond of car buyers toward the new technology.

It is reported that ignoring the impact of an increase on the hybrid vehicles under GST, Lexus will continue to offer hybrid vehicles in the Indian and Asia pacific market, as it thinks that best way to combat with the problem of pollution and increasing fuel price in the continent is by driving the hybrid vehicles rather than the electric vehicles.
Moving ahead Socco said, the high cost of battery for electric vehicles and absence of supportive infrastructure especially the absence of charging facilities are some major factors which could create problem in adaptation of electric mobility. On the other side use of hybrid can achieve the twin objective of fighting with the crude imports and minimizing carbon emissions without any extra investment by the government. According to an estimate revealed by the Japanese car maker, every hybrid car manufactured by it succeeds in saving one tone of CO2 during the period of three years.
