Lexus to Officially Debut on March 24, 2017 in India
Lexus, the premium brand of Japanese car maker Toyota Motors is finally go to make its debut in Indian car market on Marcy 24, 2017. It is reported that with Lexus will make its entry in India with three of its premium vehicles namely ES300h, LX450 and RX450h. In the beginning the Japanese brand will start its operation through Toyota dealers and will start working individually from coming months. Anyhow, till these vehicles debut in India let us have a glimpse of these three.
Lexus ES300h: The version of Lexus ES300h to debut in Indian car market is the sixth generation of this luxurious saloon. This trim of ES300h was unveiled during the New York Auto Show 2012 and underwent the facelift in 2015. Developed on the same platform that was used for developing Toyota Camry Hybrid, the sedan is empowered with 2.5 litre petrol engine boosting the power of 158 bhp and torque of 213Nm. the transmission duties are performed by CVT transmission system. Developed on Camry Hybrid’s platform the ES300h carries similar looks, but bestows additional features inside the cabin. It is reported to enter through CBU route and will be priced about Rs. 60 lakh (ex-showroom price) and will compete against Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5=Series.

Lexus RX450h: Developed on Toyota Harrier’s platform the fourth generation of Lexus RX 450h made its debut during the New York Motor Show 2015. Under the hood, the crossover is energised with 3.5 litre engine generating the power of 304 bhp and is expected to be priced about Rs. 1.20 crore (ex-showroom price). After launch it will compete with Porsche Cayenne, Volvo XC90 and BMW X6. Talking about the features offered on this crossover includes floating roof design along with spindle grille. It also carries most of its looks from Toyota Kluger.

Lexus LX450d: Developed on Toyota’s Land Cruiser’s platform the SUV LX450d in international market the SUV is offered with option of petrol and diesel engines. In Indian car market it will be offered only in diesel variant and will outsource its engine from Land Cruiser. It is speculated to be embellished with features like dynamic radar cruise control system to protect the vehicle from getting hit by the vehicle moving ahead of it. After launch in India, it will compete against Land Rover Range Rover.
