Lodgy MPV in plans of Renault for Indian car market
The MPV segment in Indian car market is soon going to witness tough competition between upcoming MPV’s Honda Mobilio and Datsun Go competing with Maruti Suzuki Ertiga already dominating the MPV segment in India. But this triangular competition will get flourished with entrance of Lodgy MPV by French car maker Renault also getting ready to make its debut in India.
The Lodgy MPV from French car maker is already being sold under the hood of Dacia. With this MPV the French car maker speculates to enjoy the same success as enjoyed by its first compact SUV Duster in Indian car market. It would be empowered with 1.5 litre diesel engine and would be offered with two power tunes of 83bhp and 108 bhp and would be coated five speed manual gearbox. As far as its petrol version is concern nothing has been so far revealed by company sources.
As far as looks of Lodgy are concerned it does looks more like a Van and has been witnessed being tested on Chennai roads on several occasions. It is reported that apart from this MPV the car maker is also planning to launch a hatchback also in Indian car market sometimes during next year. After launch apart from competing with upcoming Datsun Go+ and Honda Mobilio it will also compete with Ertiga from MSIL, Enjoy from Chevrolet and others. It is expected to be offered as competitive price falling between Rs. 8 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh (ex-showroom price).
