Luring Incentives For Exploring The Use of EV’s In Telangana
According to recent reports with an objective to encourage the manufacturers and the end users of electronic vehicles government of Telangana is making the draft of incentive options to increase the driving of these vehicle in the state. From the sources of senior official the draft of comprehensive policy for electronic vehicles has been developed by the government which will be implemented within the state in couple of months. In the words of Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary (IT and Industry) Telangana, "In the e-vehicle policy, all the components which will go in the policy have been decided. Based on that, we have prepared the first draft. Now we will have an internal meeting in the next few days to finalise the numbers. For example, if we are providing some incentives, how much should that incentive be."

According to Mr. Ranjan, the team of experts has determined the incentives that will lure all the major key-players including the manufacturers, users, product suppliers etc. He also added that once every thing is finalized the policy will be circulated to all the government departs for their feedback and then finally to the chief secretary, minister of industries and the Chief Minister. The whole process will take about two months to complete. Mr. Ranjan also said that the government in talks with the battery manufacturers and the manufacturer of electronic vehicles to establish their production units in the state.
It would be interested to know that T-Hub, the initiative initiated by the state government had recently launched the Smart Mobility and Transportation Cluster, is also working towards controlling the factors that are polluting the atmosphere. The step taken by the government of Telangana can be considered as an interesting endeavor to support the government of India’s effort of 100 percent electronic vehicles in the country by 2030.
