Mahindra and Mahindra and Ford Join Hands To Work Together

Two auto giants Mahindra and Mahindra from India and Ford from United States of America have join hands to explore their business in field of future mobility, product development, and electric vehicles. According to sources of these companies both the auto giants will work together for the period of three in the beginning after which their further collaboration will be decided. As an impact of this collaboration where the US car maker will get an opportunity to strengthen its roots in Indian and upcoming car markets the Indian car maker Mahindra and Mahindra will expand its activities in various other countries.
 
Ford and Mahindra & Mahindra to Join Hands
 
In the joint statement released by both the companies they will work together in the fields of mobility programs, electrification and product development and connected vehicle projects. According to Mr. Jim Farely, Ford Executive Vice-President and President of Global Markets, “Ford is committed to India and this alliance can help us deliver the best vehicles and services to customers while profitably growing in the world’s fifth largest vehicle market,” Moving ahead Mr. Farely also added that both the groups have history of long cooperation behind them and they mutually respect each other. The memorandum of understanding signed between both the groups will facilitate them to work together and enjoy the benefits from the changes taking place in the auto industry.
 
Commenting on the joint venture with Ford, Dr. Pawan Goenka, Managing Director, Mahindra and Mahindra said,“The changes facing the automotive industry globally are triggered by the accelerated rise of new technologies, sustainability policies and new models of urban shared mobility. Given these changes, we see the need to anticipate new market trends, explore alternatives and look for ways to collaborate even as we compete and build powerful synergies that will allow rapid exploitation of the exciting new opportunities. Today’s announcement builds on the foundation laid through our past partnership with Ford and will open opportunities for both of us.”
 
It would be interested to know that it is not for the first time that domestic car maker M&M has entered in collaboration with any International car maker. Prior to this back in 2007 the domestic car maker had partnership with French car maker Renault, which resulted in launch of Mahindra Renault Logan sedan. However after three years in 2010 Mahindra purchased the share of French car maker in the joint venture and ended the collaboration.
