Mahindra Continues to Dominate The SUV Segment in October

Amid the hike in sales during the festive season, domestic carmaker Mahindra & Mahindra, has succeeded in dominating the SUV successively for the second month. According to the sales statistics revealed by the company, it sold 32,226 units of different SUVs under its portfolio in October 2022. With this, the carmaker also dominated the SUV segment successively for the second month. Last month the company recorded an overall auto sales of 61,114 vehicles, followed by a total share of 32,298 units (consisting of cars, vans, and SUVs). During the same month, the company exported 2,755 vehicles. This was 13% less than the units exported last year during the same month. Last year it exported 3,174 units.
 
 
Speaking about the sales of commercial vehicles, the company sold 20,980 units in September 2022, whereas the commercial vehicle sales in October 2022 were 32,226 units. With this, the company dominated the segment successively for the second month. Its overall sales for October closed to 61,114 units, with the total number of cars, SUVs and vans standing at 32,298 units. The total exports in October stood at 2,755 units, this was 13% lesser than last year during the same period. Last year the company exported 3,174 units.
 
With the increasing shift towards electric mobility, the carmaker recently showcased the XUV400 Electric during an event. The company will launch the electric SUV in January 2023. The company has also partnered with an electric vehicle charging company Charge+Zone, to develop more than 2,50,000 charging stations across the country for its EVs. Mahindra is also looking to increase the number of installations, commissioning and maintenance of fast DC chargers at its owned and rented sites.
 
Moving to the electric SUV, XUV400, it will come equipped with a 39.4k Wh lithium-ion battery and offer an average of 450 km on a single charge. It can touch the mark of 100 kmph from a standstill in 8.3 seconds.
