Mahindra NuvoSport introduced with price tag of Rs. 7.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Thane)
Domestic car maker Mahindra & Mahindra today launched its third successive sub 4-meter SUV NuvoSport in Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 7.35 lakh (ex-showroom price, Thane) for base variant namely N4 and going high to Rs. 9.76 (ex-showroom price, Thane) for top end variant mated with five speed automatic transmission system. NuvoSport is the third vehicle launched by car maker during almost last six months after mini SUV KUV100 and compact muscular SUV TUV300.
Mechanically NuvSport receives newly developed three cylinder mHawk100 diesel engine that churns the power of 100 PS and torque of 240Nm. The top end variants N6 and N8 are offered with option of 5 speed manual gear and five speed automatic transmission system. It is believed that this is done to strengthen the position of vehicle in urban areas. According to reports the petrol version of NuvoSport would be also launched in coming future. With launch of NuvoSport company will withdraw its not so bestselling vehicle Mahindra Quanto from Indian car market and therefore company has not left any stone turned while working on determining its engine, design, chassis and suspension system.
Being the replacement of Quanto, the front fascia of NuvoSport carries looks similar to Quanto with contemporary appearance. The major attractions of exteriors which succeed in giving NuvoSport a sportier look are LED DRLs placed just at the edge of headlights, large air dam and broad vertical grille. The rear profile looks almost similar to Quanto comprising of same boxy design, tail lamps and spare wheel. The side profile however does not have much to impress the commuters. It is said to deliver fuel efficiency of 17.45 kmpl.
