Mahindra Patents 'Scorpio X' for New Pickup

Last year, on August 15th, the domestic carmaker Mahindra & Mahindra introduced a new concept called the Global Pik Up. They showed off their idea for a pickup truck based on the Scorpio N model and succeeded in impressing the audience.  The pickup truck is slated for launch in 2025.

With this, the India-based carmaker has also reserved the name Scorpio X for it, which will likely be used in many countries. In the beginning, the truck will be sold in countries where Mahindra has already established its roots strongly. These countries include names like South Africa, ANZ, Africa MENA, and SCA regions. Then they'll introduce it gradually in ASEAN markets. This new pickup truck, the Mahindra Scorpio X, is built on a tough and versatile platform created by Mahindra's design team in India.

It looks a lot like the Scorpio N but with some changes to make it more rugged. The front has a black grille, LED headlights, and a strong bumper with a winch. On the sides, there are additions like a snorkel, new wheels, higher suspension, roof rails, LED lights, and side steps. There's also plenty of space for carrying stuff in the back. At the rear, it has LED lights and a tough bumper.

Inside, there will likely be new features like advanced driver assistance, better safety features, and improved connectivity. The company hasn't revealed any information about the engines yet, but it's expected to have similar options to the Scorpio N, along with four-wheel drive for better off-road performance.
