Mahindra plant caught fire, no casualties reported

In an untoward incident that happened today at the Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd’s facility located in Satpur MIDC, a major fire caught up in the facility. The ferocious fire has been curbed by the fire brigade officials.

The Chief Fire Officer of the Nashik Municipal Corporation, Mr Anil Mahajan mentioned that an unrestrained fire caught up at the logistic department of the company’s facility. Fire Brigade was informed at 5.45 a.m about the incident, fire tenders responded immediately and rushed to Mahindra’s facility for rescue. To everyone’s relief, no one got hurt in the incident, including the 25 fire tenders who were present at the facility to bring things under control. Apart from the fire tenders from fire brigade, company’s own firefighting unit was also present there in the rescue operation.

The reason behind the fire has not been sighted as of yet, and the precise amount of loss is also yet to be calculated. Mr Udaykumar Vaidya, the Senior General Manager (Personnel) stated that the spare parts of Mahindra’s flagship SUV, Mahindra Scorpio and Mahindra Xylo spare parts were stored at the logistic department apart from cardboard and plastic material. TFC lines of Mahindra Bolero and Mahindra Verito are also going to be restarted,as per the company. The company is working towards sighting the reason behind this fire.
