Mahindra registers 28 percent growth

Mahindra with its stunning offerings such as Mahindra XUV 500 and the recently launched new Mahindra Xylo is on a growth track. Compare to May 2011, the SUV maker has registered a growth close to 28 percent in May this year. In all, Mahindra sold 43988 units in the last month compared to over 34300 units it sold in the same month last year. The growth is primarily on account of the fact that Mahindra is an all diesel car maker except for Mahindra Verito which is also available in petrol.

The passenger vehicle segment that constitutes its sedan Mahindra Verito and other Utility vehicles including the iconic Mahindra Scorpio, rugged rural SUV Mahindra Bolero, Mahindra Thar that has recently got an AC plant under hood, Mahindra Xylo MPV and the Cheetah inspired SUV Mahindra XUV 500. Meanwhile, besides the outstanding and above industry results, Mahindra also remained in news regarding its announcement of announcing the launch of six new cars this year. All these cars are slated this Diwali. The six upcoming Mahindra cars are expected to be Mahindra Ssangyong Korando SUV, Ssangyong Rexton SUV, Mahindra Verito based hatchback, Mahindra Verito CS, Mahindra Xylo Mini and Mahindra Reva NXR electric car.

The domestic passenger car sales grew by 27 percent ad Mahindra sold a total of around 21k units in the last month. Notably, this growth rate achievement is significant as the market conditions have been very weak following the duty hike in the Union Budget and the consequent price rise by car companies. However, with such strong offerings as the XUV 500 and Xylo, Mahindra was able to get a decent growth. Meanwhile, Mahindra will also be opening the booking for the XUV 500 from June 8 and this time it is expected that the SUV will have all the more booking than the 25k + booking applications received during the second phase.
