Mahindra S101 aka XUV 100 spied uncovered
It has been almost an year that upcoming compact SUV codenamed as S101 from domestic car maker Mahindra and Mahindra has been in limelight in form of news’s and photos published at different platforms. But this time the unit of S101 spied was completely uncovered. According to reports the version of S101 captured was undergoing a promotional shoot at Carter Road in South Mumbai.

To be sold as Mahindra XUV 100 after launch in Indian car market sometimes during next year, the SUV will be offered in both petrol and diesel trims. The petrol trim will be boosted with 1.2 litre three cylinder petrol engine churning the power of 75 bhp and torque of 110Nm. The diesel variant is reported to be equipped with mHawk 80 diesel engine carried from recently launched TUV 300 churning the power of 84 bhp and torque of 230Nm. Both the engines will be mated with five speed manual gear transmission system followed by an AMT system in petrol version.
The unit of S101 spied un-camouflaged was painted in bright orange color and carried an aggressive look with cosmetics like curve shaped rear glass, newly developed tail lights and multi spoke alloy wheels. Integration of small roof rails and plastic cladding further helped in enhancing its dynamic look. With this the vertical door handles seems to be copied from Beat hatchback by Chevrolet. Once launched in Indian car market the compact SUV will compete with Hyundai i20 Active, Toyota Etios Cross and Volkswagen Cross Polo.
