Mahindra S101 to be named as KUV 100
After successful launch of TUV 300 in Indian car market by domestic car maker Mahindra & Mahindra its proposed compact SUV codenamed as S101 has been succeeded in grabbing the attention of Indian audiences to huge extent. The upcoming compact SUV has been spied undergoing test drives on several occasions. This has increased curiosity of Indian buyers towards this mini SUV. But during last couple of months apart from speculating about the features and engine specifications that would be adorned in this compact SUV, one more thing which has become talking point among Indian car enthusiasts about this vehicle is its name. There are various names like XUV 100, CUV 100 etc which are emerging as proposed name of this new product from domestic car maker.
Going through all these rumours a new report has emerged on scene according to which the name of this new compact SUV codenamed as S101 would be KUV 100. Here the alphabet K will represent “KOMPACT”. Well this is not an end about the new reports pertaining with S101 alias KUV 100 it is reported that Bollywood’s new heart throb Varun Dhawan will promote this upcoming new vehicle on different platforms including TV commercials and print media. As reported earlier it has been announced by car maker that it will disclose all details associated with S101 on January 18, 2016.
Speculated to be offered with price tag close to Rs. 4 lakh, it is speculated that S101 would be offered in both engine options of petrol and diesel configurations comprising of 1.2 litre engine respectively. It is also expected that where the engine configuration will comprise of completely newly developed engine, the diesel might receive smaller version of 1.5 litre mHawk engine. After launch in Indian car market S101 will compete against Chevrolet Beat and Maruti Suzuki Wagon R.
