Mahindra Struggling To Meet The Demand And Supply

Where the increasing demand for its products is a moment of a proud for its manufacturer. At the same time, it can also create lots of extra problems for him especially the supply of its products. According to recent reports the domestic carmaker, Mahindra & Mahindra is going through the same situation. In the words of Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director, M&M, “the automaker is struggling to meet the massive demand for its SUV”. In his word, the demand is increasing dynamically and this is creating the situation of a long waiting period for the SUVs.

However, the increase in demand has helped in boosting the profit margin of the company. According to the sales statistics revealed by the company for the first quarter from April 2022 to June 2022, its sales accounted for Rs 2196 crore, compared to Rs 424 crore during the same period in 2021. Commenting on its production efficiency, the sources of the company said, that it is manufacturing 6,000 units of the newly launched Scorpio-N every month. The craze of people for the new Scorpio-N can be known from the fact that it received 1 lakh bookings within 30 minutes after the car maker started accepting the bookings. Due to this, the company had to close the booking immediately. The new Scorpion-N has a waiting period varying between four months and a year depending upon the variant.

Well, this problem is not only with the new Scorpio-N but with all new recently launched SUVs by the company. The Thar SUV launched in 2020 is still struggling with the problem of a long waiting period. However, the one reason behind this delay can be a shortage in the supply of semiconductor chips. The same story continues with SUV700 launched last year. With Mahindra and Mahindra readying to showcase the new series of its upcoming SUV that will be launched soon in the coming months, it is believed that the waiting period for its SUVs will go high.
