Mahindra Thar V/S Maruti Suzuki Jimny: Which Is The Best?
The upcoming five-door Mahindra Thar and Maruti Suzuki Jimny are two highly awaited SUVs in the Indian car market. Both of them are expected to make their entrance sometime during next year. Where the existing version of Thar has already received an encouraging response from Indian buyers, the Jimny is one of the most highly awaited SUVs in the country. With the announcement of Mahindra to launch the five-door version of Thar, the segment is going to witness tough competition between both SUVs fighting to dominate the market.

Well, their future is hidden in future, we are attempting to compare their feature and assess their efficiency to rule the hearts of buyers.
Engine: According to reports the Mahindra Thar will be offered with two engine options of 2.0-litre turbo petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine option. The petrol engine will generate a power of 150 PS and a torque of 320Nm. The Maruti Suzuki Jimny will come with a 1.5-litre petrol engine, generating the power of 103 PS and a torque of 137 Nm.
Transmission System: The transmission duties in Thar will be performed by a six-speed manual and automatic gear transmission system. Whereas the transmission duties in Jimny will be performed by a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic transmission system.
The Dimensions: Industry experts believe that the five-door version of Thar will be spacious and larger than its existing version. It is believed that Thar will have a length of 4.5 meters, whereas the Maruti Suzuki Jimny will have a length of 3.5 meters. It can be said that Thar will look bigger than Maruti Jimny.
Features Comparison: Although there are not many details about the features offered in both these SUVs, it is believed that Maruti Jimny will rule the competition. From the images leaked on the internet, the Jimny may have features like a nine-inch infotainment system, traction control, cruise control, wireless charging system, a 360-degree camera, paddle shifters, traction control, six airbags and a few more. The details of Mahindra Thar's features are not disclosed.
Price: The prices of both SUVs are expected to be disclosed in the coming months or at the time of their launch. However, industry experts believe that Jimny will be priced in the range of Rs 10 lakh, whereas Thar in the range of Rs 15 lakh.
Conclusion: Based on their features and names associated with them both SUVs are believed to set fire in the Indian car market and depending upon their prices both of them will have a specific segment of buyers.
