Mahindra To Develop Its Upcoming SUVs On INGLO Platform
Domestic carmaker Mahindra and Mahindra has joined hands with the German carmaker Volkswagen to outsource components for its upcoming global electric SUVs. Recently, the carmaker showcased two different brands for his electric SUVs. The first one is XUV, and the second one as BE. Both these brands are embellished with remarkable features and are unique in their ways. They share the same identity with a Twin Peaks logo. The new electric platform used by the Mahindra has been named INGLO.
According to the sources of Mahindra and Mahindra, the INGLO platform is one of the lightest skateboard platforms in the segment of electric SUVs. It is powered by safe and strong LFP cells provided by Volkswagen. The sources of Mahindra have claimed that electric SUVs with a right-hand wheel drive option will develop the power of 170 kW (228bhp) and with an all-wheel-drive option will develop the power of 250 kW (335bhp). With this power generation efficiency, these SUVs will touch the mark from standstill to 100 kmph in 5-6 seconds.
Along with the INGLO platform, the carmaker also showcased a brake-by-wire system, replacing the conventional hydraulic system. As far as the integration of technical features is concerned, the INGLO vehicles will come equipped with 5G connectivity and OTA updates. Mahindra expects both BE and XUV brands to take the INGLO platform to new heights. The platform also promises to develop highly secured and protected SUVs.
Talking about the SUVs, XUV.e8 and XUV.e9. The XUV.e8 will be 4740mm long, 1900 mm wide, and 1760 mm tall followed by a wheelbase of 2762mm. It will be the perfect combination of superior performance, contemporary technology, and safety. It will also receive an all-wheel-drive system and sophisticated interiors. Aesthetically it will almost look like XUV700 powered by ICE. Moving towards XUV.e9, the coupe SUV, it will have a length of 4790 mm, a width of 1905 mm, a height of 1690 mm and a wheelbase of 2775 mm. With the latest design, the SUV has an aerodynamic look in a coupe form. The notable features of this SUV coupe are smart interiors and a panoramic sky roof.
Moving to BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09, this range of electric SUVs is expected to launch from December 2024 onwards. The first SUV to debut in the market will be BE.05. Among three BE brand SUVs, it is the smallest and the most important SUV. It will have a length of 4370 mm, a width of 1900 mm, and a height of 1635 mm. The wheelbase has a length of 2775 mm. Moving towards the second SUV of BE brand the BE.07, it is a family-oriented SUV, with a length of 4565 mm, a width of 1900 mm, a height of 1660 mm, and a wheelbase of 2775 mm. Finally, the last SUV, BE.09, which is the superior SUV among all-electric SUVs under the flag of BE brand. The dimensions of BE.09 are yet to be revealed and therefore industry experts believe it to come with low height and bigger dimensions.
