Mahindra to launch 3 new SUVs by 2015 along with a cheaper XUV 500
India's leading utility vehicle maker, Mahindra & Mahindra is aiming to enlarge its product portfolio by near future with launch of 3 new off-roaders along with new versions for existing products and a lover variant of global sports utility vehicle, Mahindra XUV 500. Apart from this, the company will also launch a refreshment of old warhorse Mahindra Scorpio. All the new Mahindra SUVs/off-roaders are reported to be launched by 2015-16.

At present, along with SUV/MPV segments, M&M is looking to enlarge its passenger car (sedan and hatchback) segment too. It has recently launched the Mahindra Verito Vibe which is a hatchback version of the already available compact sedan Verito. And now, again the company is capturing its eyes on the segment of off-roaders. In this segment, the Indian auto giant is facing competition from new entrant competitors like Renault Duster, Maruti Ertiga, Force One etc. Meanwhile, very soon Ford's compact SUV, Ecosport will also be challenging its products in domestic market.

In order to gain the market share in off-roaders segment and provide stiff competition to rivals, the company has made plans about the launch of 3 new SUVs. First of all, it will introduce the lover price variant of XUV 500 and after that the new Scorpio will be thrown with many of changes and innovative features. The domestic auto firm will also offer all these upcoming new Mahindra vehicles to foreign customers.
