Mahindra To Stop Production Of Sedans, Hatchbacks, And Compact SUVs
According to new industry reports domestic carmaker Mahindra & Mahindra will not manufacture any more sedans, hatchbacks, and compact SUVs for the Indian car market. Instead of that, the company will focus on manufacturing the new range of premium electronic SUVs in collaboration with Italian partner Pininfarina with a new brand name.

In the words of Mr Anish Shah, MD & CEO Mahindra & Mahindra, the electronic SUVs manufactured under the new brand name will be priced in the range of Rs 40 lakh. According to the sources of the company, it will invest more than Rs 3,000 crore for this project. Mr Shah also added that the new vehicles will be based on the “true blue, larger SUVs” concept which is the main motto of the company’s heritage and legacy. The series of products will mainly include the electronic versions of Bolero, Scorpio, Thar XUV300, and XUV500. All these vehicles will now be manufactured with Pininfarina.
It is reported that Italian carmaker Pininfarina is going to launch a super-luxury electronic car – Batista in the international car market with a price tag of 2 million Euros. It is reported that the company will manufacture only 125 units of this super luxury electronic car which is believed to strengthen its position in the electric vehicles segment.
The company is going to launch the next generations of Scorpio and XUV500 soon in the Indian car market. Along with this, it is also working on bringing the facelift version TUV300 and reported to be named Beloero Neo. Further, the company is reported to be working on introducing a new mid-sized SUV to go against the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta.
