Mahindra & Mahindra Providing Food To Under-Privileged Amid COVID-19
Today when the whole world is struggling with the problem of COVID-19, there are lots of people who are trying the provide as much help to the needy persons in terms of food, money, and medicines according to their ability, and India is not an exception to it. In our country also, going through the condition of lockdown there are lots of people, especially the vulnerable sections who are fighting for the food because neither they have a job to do nor enough money to buy daily bread for them. Keeping this requirement of such sections domestic carmaker Mahindra & Mahindra has initiated the facility of supplying meals and ration to the needy persons.
In the words of Mr. Pawan Goenka, CEO and MD, Mahindra & Mahindra, that during the last their group had provided 50,000 packets of food and 10,000 bags of ration to the persons in need. Till now the company has helped almost 50,000 migrants and daily wage workers. Mr. Goenka, also added that the company also provides the facility of using their kitchen to the groups those who want to cook food for the needy persons during such conditions. The kitchen has the facility of cooking 10,000 meals daily.

It would be interesting to know that the efforts of the home-grown carmaker are not stagnated to only satisfying the ration needs of the people, but it also adopting different measures that will help in controlling the spread of the virus across the country. For this the company manufacturing the ventilators for the patients suffering from the coronavirus, and has initiated their testing. Along with this, it has also started working on the development of a face shield near its Kandivali facility for medical care professionals.
Moving ahead, the company is also providing free face masks to the people in need to fight against the pandemic. Inspired by the initiative from the domestic carmaker, the locally based start-up manufacturing sanitary napkins has asked the company to modify its machine for making 3-ply masks. Replying to this group Mahindra has upgraded its manufacturing plant in Kandivali and has confirmed to manufacture 10,000 masks per day.
