Mahindra & Mahindra sales jump 52.71 per cent in November

The country’s largest utility vehicle manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra has posted steep growth of 52.71 per cent during the month of November 2011. The Total sales of the company stood at 40,722 units during the month as compared to sales of 26,666 units in the November, last year.

The total sales of M&M in its base market India stood at 38,159 units in the month, as against 25,166 units of its cars sold in the same month last year; registering a sales growth of 51.63 per cent rise during the month.

In the utility vehicle segment, the company’s total sales was at 17,813 units in November as compared to 12,323 units in sold in the same month last year, accounting for a sales surge of 44.55%. The utility vehicle range of the company in the country includes Mahindra Scorpio, Mahindra Bolero, Mahindra Xylo and recently launched Mahindra XUV 500.

Speaking on the company’s performance, Rajesh Jejurikar, M&M Chief Executive (Automotive Division), said that the company is delighted with its massive surge in sales in November, wherein in spite of the market slowdown after the festive season, the firm has been consistently able to maintain its performance. All Mahindra brands are doing well, with the excitement around XUV 500 continues.

Exports of the company jumped to 2,563 units during the month as compared to 1,500 units during November, 2010, accounting for a sales surge of 70.87 per cent.
