Domestic car maker Mahindra & Mahindra has finally revealed the name of its proposed compact SUV codenamed as S201. The upcoming SUV is reported to be named as XUV300 and is reported to make its debut during the month of February 2019. The compact SUV is based on SsangYong Tivoli and is believed to equipped with a bunch of some remarkable features like dual-zone automatic air conditioner, seven airbags etc. It will be offered in both petrol and diesel variants and will compete against Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Nissan Kicks, Ford EcoSport, and Tata Nexon in the Indian car market.

 

 

Commenting about the name Dr. Pawan Goenka, Managing Director, Mahindra and Mahindra Limited said,"The XUV300 is our latest offering in the next generation of aspirational Mahindra vehicles, after the Marazzo and the Alturas G4. Our new breed of vehicles are products of engineering excellence, offer high refinement and are built on global platforms. XUV500 enjoys huge equity in consumers' minds and with the XUV300, the XUV brand will evolve into a family of vehicles that stands for sophistication with performance." On the exterior front, it outsources most of its features from elder sibling XUV500 and embellishes the features like dual LED DRL headlamps integrated with fog lamps, wheel arches giving an impression of haunches of Cheeta.

 

 

The SUV XUV300 will be developed at company’s production unit located in Nashik, Maharashtra. Briefing the features of XUV300 Mr. Rajan Wadhera, Rajan Wadhera, President Automotive Sector, M&M Ltd. said, "The XUV300 is an all-new product that is built on a global platform and comes with many segment firsts. The XUV300's head-turning, cheetah-inspired design, fun-to-drive performance, first-in-class hi-tech features, best-in-class safety and class-defining interiors, make it an exciting and comprehensive package that will find a strong connect and appeal among customers. We will offer the XUV300 in both petrol and diesel options."
