Mahindra’s Compact SUV S101 spied
Domestic car maker Mahindra & Mahindra is working on launching a new compact SUV codenamed as S101 to compete against Ford’s EcoSport. The upcoming SUV has been spotted going through test drives although covered heavily to not let anyone know about the exact looks of compact SUV. But still the spies succeeded in catching the shots of visible parts which reveal flue clues about the upcoming SUV.
The exteriors of SUV S101 (codename) received large headlamps followed by LED daytime running lights similar to its predecessor XUV 500. Whereas moving to the rear portion the SUV has received tailgate and bumper followed by taillight cluster yet to be accomplished. According to information received from spies the tailgate has sufficient space to place a spare wheel. Talking about the features offered in interiors M&M has tried to protect the interiors safe from the spies and do not offer any chance to pry any information about the interiors of this SUV.
As far as engine configuration is concerned nothing has been so far revealed by company but it is speculated to be offered with 1.2 litre turbocharged petrol engine and 1.5 litre diesel engine. The vehicle is expected to make its debut sometimes during next year and would compete against Ford EcoSport. The production of SUV will take place at company’s production unit located at Cheyyar in Tamil Nadu.
