Malaysia gets tweaked version of Nissan Teana, details inside
Nissan Teana facelift was launched in the Malaysian car market yesterday; the car now dons some new features. Addition of a new Blind Spot Warning System is among the most vital changes in the car. New Nissan Teana is offered with a 2.5 litre V6 powertrain trim only; this is the first vehicle in the premium sedan segment that features the sturdy engine. Another interesting feature that the new Nissan Teana flaunts of is the 24 Ghz radar sensors. Two such sensors are placed on the rear bumper; the sensor helps in detecting the moving objects in a driver’s blind spot field. The LED indicators that are affixed on the rear view mirrors will then signal the driver if there would be any activity.
In case the driver does not pay attention to the signal, an alarm will start ringing. Interiors of the Teana facelift are done in black along with wood work. The 2.0 litre trim comes with beige interiors, while the 2.5 litre variant will be offered with black and dark brown wood work. This new variant is equipped with features like steering wheel and console illumination.
The exteriors have been tweaked too, new accents are present inside the front grille and the inner blades are painted in smoked chrome colour. A lip spoiler at the rear and a full body kit embodied with side skirts are present. The high end version of the sedan viz, the 2.5 litre V6 Teana available for sale at RM 173,100 that is equal to Rs 30.38 lakh in India currency. The new version is pricier by Rs 1,450 as compared to its predecessor which is not much considering that the new version also comes with an added kit. Nissan India has also been tweaking its cars and rolling out special editions of its cars in India, what remains to be seen is whether the India bound Teana will also undergo any makeover.
