Maruti Cervo to replace longstanding Maruti 800!
Couple of days back, an official of Maruti Suzuki India stated that the iconic Maruti 800 (M800) is expected to retire from its array by December’2012. Moreover, a fresh small car with-- new name-- based on the same platform will be rolled out as replacement. The market yet again gets heated up, as another Maruti small car is in the making. What say--any presumptions, on which car it can be? Remember Maruti Cervo, the shelved project of segment leader. True, this can act as a possible swop of the aged-old people mover, M800. The modern hatch Cervo is expected start off with nearly INR 2.5 Lakh.

As of now, Cervo is available in Japan under Suzuki banner with much advanced features, these high tech features can be trimmed down to come up with a cost effective small car for India. Just imagine a trendy looking mini car (somewhat like Hyundai Eon) that offers superb mileage figures alongside carries low maintenance and on top of it, service assurance of Maruti. Sigh-- no words to express the delight.

The small car will be a proper hatchback, akin to Maruti 800, with 5-doors and spacious cabin along with sound exterior design, which will mark the ingress of Maruti’s new design language.
If everything progresses well, as said, then it will be a dream come true for middle-class car buyer, who intends to buy his first ‘economy’ car. Although, there are no formal announcements made by the company about Cervo, but still Maruti would always appreciate to come up with more or less similar product after it drives M800 into history.
